O.S. Popov Odessa National Academy of Telecommunications (ONAT) invites foreign citizens for training from September, 01, 2015

The Academy is the leading specialized higher educational institution in Ukraine of the IVth (the highest) level of accreditation that prepares bachelors and masters in all spheres of ICT and Economy of Telecommunications. There exist the following institutions: Educational and Research Institute of Infocommunications and Software Engineering, Educational and Research Institute of Radio, Television and Information Security, Educational and Research Institute of Computer Technologies, Automation and Logistics, Educational and Research Institute of Information Society Issues, College of Telecommunications and Information Processing.

ONAT is widely famous abroad. Since 2008 ONAT has been the member of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and also the constitutor of the International Constantly Acting Rectors’ Conference of Telecommunication Universities.

There are several Doctors of Honours of ONAT , namely: Mr. Hamadoun Toure (General Secretary of ITU); Mr. A.M. Abbasov (Minister of Communication and High Technologies of Azerbaijan); Mr. G.A. Mammadov (Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University); Mr. Pashaev A.M.-D. (Rector of National Academy of Aviation JSC “Azerbaijan Hava Yollari”); Mr. Markaryan Garegin (Professor, Head of Communication Systems Department, Lancaster, Great Britain) and other outstanding personalities.

In September 2015 ONAT will celebrate its 95th anniversary. For many years more than 80,000 professionals of telecommunication sphere have been trained at ONAT for Ukraine and other world countries.

First foreign students arrived for studying at ONAT in 1949. Since then the degrees of Bachelors and Masters have been obtained by nearly 2000 foreign students form 75 countries of the world; more than 60 of them became PhD.

In 1998 at ONAT there was opened Preparatory Department for foreign students that do not know Ukrainian and Russian languages. During 10 months foreign citizens fulfill not only language training but training in Mathematics, Physics and other subjects that are necessary for their further successful studying at ONAT on Master’s Degree Program, Bachelor Degree Program and Post-graduate Program.

At present about 500 foreign students from 25 different countries are being trained at ONAT.

Training of foreign students is carried out in all directions and specialities which Ukrainian citizens are training for. They are as follows:

Bachelor training is carried out in such directions:

  • Telecommunications;
  • Software Engineering;
  • Radio Engineering;
  • Information and Communication Systems Security;
  • Information Technical Security Systems;
  • Automation and Computer Integrated Technologies;
  • Postal Communication Network and Systems;
  • Economics of Enterprise;
  • Management;
  • Sociology.

Master training is carried out for such specialities:

  • Information and Communications Networks;
  • Telecommunication Technologies and Facilities;
  • Telecommunication Systems and Networks;
  • Information Technical Security Systems;
  • Information Processing Automation;
  • Radioelectronic Equipment, Systems and Complexes;
  • Radio Communication, Radio and Television Broadcasting Equipment;
  • Postal Communication Equipment and Technologies;
  • Automated Management and Control Systems in Postal Communications;
  • Automated Management of Technological Processes;
  • Computer-Integrated Technological Processes and Production;
  • Economics of Enterprise;
  • Management of Organizations and Administration;
  • Management of Foreign Economic Activity;
  • Sociology.

Training fee for foreign students is:

  • Preparatory Department – 1200 US dollars per an academic year;
  • Bachelor Degree – 1900 US dollars per one academic year (full-time education in Russian or Ukrainian languages); 2400 US dollars per an academic year (full-time education in the direction “Telecommunications” in English); 1700 US dollars (part-time education in any direction in Russian and Ukrainian languages).

 

  • Master Degree – 4000 US dollars per two academic years (full-time education in Ukrainian and Russian languages – any speciality); 5000 US dollars per two academic years (full-time education in English  – in the speciality “Information and Communications Networks”);  3600 US dollars (part-time education in Ukrainian and Russian languages – any speciality).

 

All foreign students are provided with the dormitory.

Fee for the dormitory is min. 40 US dollars per a month during the whole academic year.
